Griffin finally overcomes Claudia's hostility to any rival to Justin, by playing the big brother, only to find jealous Julia upset about being neglected. Kirsten's parents arrive for a pre-wedding weekend, but while about-to-retire dreamer Gene Bennett quickly bonds with Charlie, his wife Ellie must explain to Kirsten how her practical attitude balances out their happy marriage.
